Serving: 1 Cup
Cinnamon Star Anise Chai is a beautifully aromatic variation of traditional Indian chai that combines the warm sweetness of cinnamon with the distinctive licorice-like flavor of star anise. This distinctive tea is renowned for its complex flavor profile, where the sweet warmth of cinnamon perfectly balances the bold, slightly sweet and aromatic notes of star anise. This chai offers both therapeutic benefits and an indulgent taste experience that’s both exotic and familiar.
it’s etymology
Cinnamon comes from the Greek word “kinnamomon&”, derived from the Hebrew and Arabic term “amomon”, referring to a spice plant. In Hindi, cinnamon is called “Dalchini” (meaning Chinese wood), while in Sanskrit it’s known as “Tvak”. Star Anise gets its name from its distinctive eight-pointed star shape, and in Hindi it’s called “Chakra Phool” (wheel flower). Botanically, cinnamon is Cinnamomum verum (Ceylon cinnamon) or Cinnamomum cassia (Cassia cinnamon), while star anise is Illicium verum. Both spices have been prized in traditional medicine and cuisine for centuries, with cinnamon being one of the world’s oldest known spices.
