it’s etymology
“Kesar” is the Hindi and Urdu word for saffron, rooted in the ancient Sanskrit word keśara, meaning stamen or pollen. In Persian and Arabic, the spice is called zafaran, which later gave rise to the English word “saffron”. Together with “chai”, which simply means tea, the name Kesar Chai translates to “saffron tea” – a fitting name for a drink made with one of the world’s most precious spices.
